🌸 Bathukamma
Bathukamma means "Come alive, Mother". This festival is dedicated to Goddess Gauri. According to one story, it is celebrated for the peace of princess Lakshmi who died of grief after her husband's death.
According to another story, Goddess Gauri killed demons Chikkudu-Pikkudu and saved people. In that joy, people celebrate this festival.

Bangaru Bathukamma Uyyalo
After Telangana state formation in 2014, Bathukamma was recognized as an official state festival. Telangana government distributes free sarees to women on "Saddula Bathukamma" day every year.
Grand Bathukamma celebrations are held at Tank Bund, Hussain Sagar, Osmania University and other areas. Thousands of women gather to dance and sing together.
