📖 What is Pradosham?
Pradosham (Pradosha Vratam) is a sacred vrat of worshiping Lord Shiva during sunset on Trayodashi (13th tithi) of each paksha. "Pradosha" means twilight or sunset time.
According to Puranas, during Samudra Manthan when Halahala emerged, Lord Shiva consumed it during Pradosha Kala to save the worlds. Since then, this time became most sacred for Shiva worship.
🕐 Pradosha Kala
Pradosha Kala lasts from 1.5 hours before sunset to 1 hour after sunset. Worshiping Lord Shiva during this 2.5 hour window is highly auspicious. Usually between 4:30 - 7:00 PM.

The name of Pradosham changes based on which day of the week Trayodashi falls.
